GfGD Welcomes New Trustees with Kathryn Goodenough Appointed as Chair
We are pleased to announce the new trustees joining GfGD’s board of trustees. They were appointed earlier this year in June.
Whilst we welcome our new trustees, we would also like to thank Kirsty Dawkes, who is retiring from GfGD’s Board of Trustees, and Nic Bilham, who is stepping down as chair after nearly 10 years of exemplary leadership (though is staying on for another year as a trustee), for their help and support.
Our new trustees
Chair: Kathryn Goodenough
Kathryn is the International Lead (Regional Geoscience) at British Geological Survey (BGS) and critical‑metals researcher; has extensive UK‑government (FCDO) links; and is renowned for building North‑South survey partnerships across sub‑Saharan Africa.
Other members: Nancy Muriungi and Beth Simons.
Nancy is a Doctoral Research Fellow at Rhodes University and is researching the evolution of high-beryllium-niobium-tantalum pegmatites in the Mozambique Belt of Kenya.
Beth has a PhD on granites and critical metals for the low carbon economy. She has spent the past decade working in the humanitarian sector on natural hazard responses, risk analysis and early warning for climatic, economic and conflict hazards.
Welcome to the team.
